This is my "now" page, where I share what I'm currently focused on. It's a way to track my learning, interests, and activities. I aim to update it regularly.
Learning
I'm still sharpening my DevOps chops, containerising side projects and diving deeper into orchestration patterns with Docker and Kubernetes. Real-world practice is the best teacher!
Reading
I just finished Elena Ferrante's Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay. Sailing through Lila and Lenù's lives has been incredible, and I picked up the fourth instalment, The Story of the Lost Child, at the Lisbon Book Fair. I cannot wait to open it as soon as I turn the final page of Carla Madeira's acclaimed Brazilian novel Tudo é Rio.
Han Kang's The Vegetarian was an interesting experiment. There's a "main" character we only meet through three other viewpoints, but the novel itself didn't quite land for me.
Bell Hooks' All About Love was my first encounter with her work. I appreciated many of her reflections on affection and community, but the heavy religious framing lost me a bit.
Listening
On repeat: my own Feminist Vibes playlist, a kaleidoscope of vintage protest anthems, brand-new rap, funk, rock, jazz, and voices from every corner of the globe. Curating it was half the fun.
Watching
From everything I've watched recently, a few titles really stand out: I was fascinated by Perfect Days, a minimalist gem with a top-tier soundtrack; the latest episodes of Couple Therapy remain painfully honest and fascinating; Marinette, a French biopic about footballer Marinette Pichon, tells a truly uplifting story; and Close is achingly beautiful and left a lasting mark on me.
Enjoying
Early-evening seaside walks with my daughter (she cruises alongside on her bike) have become our little ritual. Just us, the waves, and a pocket of time to chat and laugh.
I also slipped away to Porto with a gang of friends for São João: grilled sardines, plastic hammers, and the city buzzing into the early hours, pure culture-soaked joy.
